17th NOV. PORT ISSACS TO BOOBYS BAY( nr.Treyarnon)

We got going this morning at 7.50 .Walking fairly up and down, in and out coast path.  My knees were abit creaky from yesterday but by the time we reach Port Quinn they felt slightly better. The path from then on were a lot easier,  we had had a brief break in quiet Port Quinn scoffing a few custard creams. The weather at this point was over cast and a liittle depressing. We could see fulmars gliding effortless on the north easterly wind. The odd gannet with wind tips almost skimming the wave tops added to the vistas.

Rumps Point and its sister Pendine Point came and went.
As we walked to New Polzeath, passed the first of the day walkers.
We walked the beach to Polzeath,  heading toward shops and possible a drink. Most sea front shops appeared to be based around surfing. The cafe we chose was a christian surf based cafe. Pleasant place to sit and drink coffee,  surf boards with the names of the apostles were hung on the churchy ceiling.
Walking again on the sand we plodded on getting to the ferry to Padstow.
We could see the ferry going backwards and forwards across the River Camel. The tide was going out and as we walked to where we last saw the ferry land our side. It was a landing craft affair,  and on its return journey it landed in a different place to its previous landing. We had walked passed its new landing spot and ended up half running back.  The chap on the ferry laughed saying its quite a walk.  We paid our £3 single fair,  happy with the change of routine. We were also pleased we did not arrive on a Sunday , this time of year they do not run.
We were landed a five minute walk to Padstow. The sun was shining on and numerous folk milled about. It was incredibly busy.
We sat on the harbour front eating chips. A chap who we passed on Pendine Head came over and said how well we had done to get there.
We could see the ferry boat at anchor as the tide wad now to low for a spell. From Padstow ,leaving at 1.30, we had a really easy walk to Stepper Point then up to a tower. We hoped to get to the Yha hostel at Treyardnon but it was fully booked. We were going to head via Harlyn by road and do Trevose Head packless tomorrow morning. Instead we now plodded toward the head.  Some beautiful bays were passed,  each perfect for pitching but lacking water. Also we now hoped to get to Newquay tomorrow evening, so what we got done today would make it easier tomorrow. The going was easy,  especially in comparison to the passed few knee killer days.
We got to Trevose Head in dimming light,  the lighthouse blinked away. Walking passed a rather precarious ,Round Hole,  a bloody great hole with a natural arch to the sea.
We faffed about taking a photo of the sunset toward Newquay then walked in failing light to Booby bay where we thankfully pitched. J and I had a few words at each other up over pitching the tent but was sort lived.
J cooked the dehydrated spag bol while I cut up onion and garlic. It was a good meal.
We had a better radio signal tonight.
