We started off porridgeless so ate more hobnobs. Set off around 7.45 and was up St.Marthas Hill with its sandy soil and path for the sunrise.
The route to Farnham was fairly easy with only one spot a mud wet mess by Farnham Golf Course.
We would of popped into Watts museum at Compton but they were re- roofing the place so continued on.
We had a decent view of the Hogs Back which runs parralel with my route. I could see the A31 traffic moving along its top. The constant hum of traffic reminding us we are surrounded by a busy network.
We ambled into Farnham, it was a day of fancy big houses, horses and sand. Long tits, and gold crests feeding, plenty of bird song where as yesterdays woodland walk was devoid. Pretty pleased to get the walk out the way and move on or toward the Thames Path.
In Travelodge tonight with the intent of a slow start tomorrow.
Josh was incredibly helpful this eve; cooked pasta, sew up my pack coat and fixed his sleep mat. Things are looking up. I blogged and repaired tent zip and fixed baffle on sleeping bag.
Not a good weather forecast , snow..and lost a glove.
4400 mile backpack of the Great British National Trails in one continuous walk .This includes Section One- 3700 miles of the National Trails of England and Wales , all 15 trails , Section 2- a 700 miles of the 4 Scottish Long Distant Paths. This is one walk , completed by linking trails by walking inbetween using lesser trails, lanes , etc.
