Woke fairly early to the tent being hit by gusts and rain. I got breaky on as usual and asked J if he wanted his cold tea from last night. He said yes and I passed it to him. He does not like hot tea like me, I cannot abide cold tea, he has a tendancy of leaving his tea outside in the entrance then drinks it in the morning. He knocked it back and commented how cold sweet and tasty it was. He handed the beaker back to me and I noticed what I thought was a teabag in it but turned out to be a drowned frog. Ahh , that sweet cold tea - Yum! The look on J's face as I showed him turned to disgust. Maybe he will turn into Frog boy superhero. Of course in the dying throws of life the frog probably released its bladder and bowels adding that special added ingredient J seemed to enjoy two minutes previous. I laughed until I was sore. Will teach him not to put the top on his beaker. Holly, J's girlfriend could only sympathize with the frog, good for her.
It was quite a decent day. Low level walking to start followed by a diversion due to heavy flowing river. IT was good paths again and well signposted. Again views of cough and Red Kites.
In Aberaeron we had a decent stop at the Llond Plat fish and chip shop, great chips the best of the walk and we've had our fair share. We sat outside and enjoyed the sun, the new boots were tight and I was sure O was developing a heel blister on the left foot.
It was a fairly touristy place, coaches pulling up and depositing elderly clients at regular intervals. Large gaggles of mature women moved in packs.
Again it was multi coloured houses in the Balamory style. The council must give houses a colour chart or a discount to residents.
The great coast path took us to New Quay which due to the rather ragged coast line looked nearer than it was.
As my feet were getting sore J suggested I try his boots. It worked on both counts, J saying his cheapo boors always felt as if they were going to fall to pieces. For me I did not care as they felt alot more comfy.
Reaching New Quay via the beach we brewed a tea and followed it eith a rum and raisin ice cream.
The walk on found us pitching in a perfect little isolated bay about a mile north of Cwmtydu. Dippers in the stream and the roar of the sea on the beach. It was good to be alive and to have stopped for the day. J explored the shore and found an enormous carapace of a spider crab and I the caterpillar of a garden tiger moth. My feet were sore from earlier and I had to pop a heel blister I had had suspicions was brewing.
We spent the evening in walk characters of Baron von Shlupper and Herr Doktor, if a National Trust Ranger had wanted to move us on he would of thought us mad and avoid contact!
