This will be brief summary of a hard day.
I woke at 5.40 , the tent was dry until I got out at 7 then a heavy rain shower drenched it, typical. We were up early and away by 7.30am. It was barely light. We passed the first of the dog walkers doing a circuit of the field next to where we pitched. Entering Looe a chap was waiting for the sunrise with camera on tripod. Did not realise Looe was so big and beautiful traditional buildings. We made a pit stop in a Co- op for donuts and bics. A chap tried taking our picture for us and failed, he did not realise so did not tell him.
We walked out with numerous showers and hail hitting us.
We seemed to follow parallel to the road and used it periodically to give respite from the muddy paths.
It was a determined day to get some mileage done on a relatively easy straight route. We did not stop for lunch having bought sherbet lemons to suck, and choc bars to eat on the hoof.
The highlight was Rame Head and the ferry to Plymouth. It was a hard day . My toes were raw from wet boots.
We had trouble getting accomodation due to' Madness playing at the Pavilion'. I phoned around eventually finding the Hotel Royal....it was not as grand as sounds. We found it and paid the £50 for the large room. We washed gear, dried tent, fixed mats. It was a productive evening.
Went out to buy litre of ice cream for each of us.
Finally at 9 was able to relax.
