17th DEC. ISLE OF PORTLAND (Church Ope Cove ) to Black Head near OSMINGTON MILLS

Woke up on time this morn. Breaky was tea and porridge with nuttella instead of sugar,  we thought we had only enough sugar for tea so sweetened the porridge using Nuttella. I later found a pound of sugar in the food bag.
We walked the relatively easy route past various prisons in the form of a Young Offenders unit and a meduim secure prison in the old fortress . We meandered back down via Fortunes Well and back across the road to Ferry Bridge. For some reason J seems to go into some sort of down here and after a few words we walked in silence for about an hour.
We were finally off the island and walking in the direction which felt like progress on an old railway route- Rodwell Trail.
We headed for the town centre to get xmas pressies and replacement radio and phone charger. Our first stop was in Wetherspoons for a cheap breaky and decent coffee. We used it as our base as I again ran around. The charger was expensive so I haggled three pounds off the price,  the lifetime guarantee seemed worthless as we would never return it from Yorkshire. Lego for the boys and a small gift from J to them. Food shop and then a return to pack things.
We were carrying a fair few fossils so wanted to post them town Monique to save the weight. It was not easy packaging things up.  J went and washed the fossils coming back saying the manager had caught him doing so but as he also had an interest it was ok. Silty sinks don't go down to  well.
We left there phones charged and went and joined the queue to post things. Expensive business this xmas. After all the rigmoral we went to the Swan for a relaxing pint ans to book Lulworth Cove Yha. I also contacted the local press about visiting the local AGE UK shop , exciting local newsgroups!
We finally walked out of Weymouth via the seafront making our way on to the Bowlease Cove amusements,  with its tacky pirate theme and the Riviiera Hotel that stood out white as we were leaving Weymouth. It was quite an impressive building much like a Ugandan High Commission.
We were back to cliff walking which started off ok,  but soon became a mud bath. Again we worked to avoid slipping over or wet feet,  near impossible. It made for slow awkward going. I swore to get rid of my frustration. We eventually pitched on a short cliff which smelt of fox.
We had a rice curry which may of upset my delicate digestive system,  watch out Josh!
The wind up cheapo radios handle fell off,  another tent pole snapped and Ihastened a repair easy enough.
Relaxing winding the radio up every 5 to ten minutes is not relaxing,  should of got a battery one!
Only one tea bag left will make it last for a few cups yet.
