This will be a very brief account of the day.
We started the day around 7. I got my gear sorted then got J up. The coffee I had drunk as well as the Pepsi had me weeing for England and I was constantly popping to the loo.
We had coffee and toast/ marmalade eating as we watched the news.
Packed up and left at 9 walking around Pendennis Head before heading down the high on street to get supplies. A excellent hardware store enabled us to get meths at 1.50 , so I got three. Bought a junior hacksaw and outside store I sawed and repaired our main pole.Once done a chap with Russian grey coat and numerous army surplus packs and cigarette stained beard came over to chat. Tez was his name, probably well known in this area. Ex services and in his sixties he is a self imposed tramp. What a character.
We got food supplies that seemed to double our packs weight. We bought tickets for the St Mawes ferry from the tourist office £5 one way each.
Journey was about half hour. We started walking up from the twee village having stared across at St Anthony our destination and lack of ferry this time of year. We therefore had a 9 mile walk around to it ...road walk.
It was a uneventful journey, I read a book outloud and the papers crossword to pass the time.
We got to Gerrans, and so near Portscatho which we will not see until tomorrow. Five miles on via the illusive St. Anthony and to Zone Point. The weather had been good all day. We contemplated stopping at Zone Point but it was to busy with the ex military buildings now National Trust. We walked on to Porthmellin Head and found a flat spot to pitch around 4.30. It was getting chilly.
We had got water at Zone Head so was pleased to get a tea in us. A basic tea of cheese and pickle sandwiches then around 8.30 I slept.
4400 mile backpack of the Great British National Trails in one continuous walk .This includes Section One- 3700 miles of the National Trails of England and Wales , all 15 trails , Section 2- a 700 miles of the 4 Scottish Long Distant Paths. This is one walk , completed by linking trails by walking inbetween using lesser trails, lanes , etc.
