5th NOV. QUANTOCK HILLS TO MINEHEAD

This is only a brief note.....
Yes I know I am lazy!

Woke up very damp,  even the inner tent was damp. The trees protected us from any breeze so all was wet.
After porridge we packed up in damp mist.
We followed a track in mist,  no views. Only about five minutes on we came across common land, ideal to pitch,  such is life!
The route was good and clear following Macmillan Way. Eventually and the mist started burning off and to our delight we watched a small flock office Wood pidgeons being chased by a peregrine falcon,  it was so close.
We descended to the lanes and walked on to Watchet picking up Somerset Coast Path to Minehead via Butlins.
As walked up high street a chap in walking gear came over and introduced himself. He was our hostel owner we had booked with earlier that day.
Arrived at hostel,  had dorm to ourselves, spread our gear out ;tent,  sleeping bags all drying out ,also seemed to have brought a few slugs with us! Showered in v hot shower,  hand washed socks. Feet sore today need love and care.
J cooked cheese and onion toasted pitta bread ... yum... we had a couple of magners ciders each and relaxed.
