We got up , was porridged packed up and walking by 8. We even had a dry tent with the stiff breeze blowing.
It was a fairly intensive day of following no.5 the cycle track / path. The brolley was constantly up and down with the showers. It was hard head down walking, the NW gusty window preventing close sea walking and it was alot cooler.
What can I say we stopped at a roadside greasy joe cafe and sat in the rain with jadded water in our disposable tea cups not the most enjoyable. We transfered ito a bus shelter whixch only confused bus drivers thinking we were waiting for a bus.
We walked into Prestatyn with sore feet and sat scoffing bics beside a golf course which spoilt the fish and chips in the town centre. Josh was tired, the constant hard surface really taking it out of him.
Three miles on we entered Rhyll with its numerous care homes. I had an interview with AGE UK radio then ran around getting personal radios to save phone batteries. We were still struggling to get the batteries charged and I have to curtail joshs usage.
Walking out along the coast path there were what appeared millions of caravans packed cheek to jowl, a real housing estate of static caravans, who spends the £2600 yearly site fees to come here. Personally I found it depressing and depressed.
Walkeda on to Abergele and was forced due to lack of pitch sites to pay for a campsite near the golf course and castle much to Josh's pleasure. It had been a slog with a forced march of 23.5 miles, no wonder he felt tired, we both did! In the end the £10 pitch fee seemed well spent.
Feel abit disorganised and look forward to the YHA at Conway tomorrow to get cleaned up and sorted.
