We dropped into this village and by mistake, hind-sight ee had a coffee and brownie in the first cafe we came to. Should of asked the price of all because it cost us nearly a tenner. I moaned about it for a hour afterwards. YCabin was the option we should of taken.
The route took us on to Aberporth where we stopped I brewed tea while J gathered limpets and mussle .Weight boiled them ,put vineger on them and with chips we felt content.
We had a hell of a day at the end. We had to walk almost to Cardigan as no farmers/wives in four farms were in, a NFU meeting or just shopping day. Finally at almost 7.30 we convinced a dairy farmer who appeared suspicious of us to allow us to pitch in a cowless field. I was shattered and irritable, poor Josh took the flack and I apologise to him. We only had a mile and half to the centre of Cardigan
.
29TH SEPTEMBER
We were up and moving early due to no breakfast. The main tent pole snapped by the apex of the hoop which is awkward to fix. I was me who broke it, but it must of been worn to break as it did.
We walked into a quiet Saturday Cardigan. It was a pretty town. At the bottom of the main street was a fantastic cafe,The Castle Cafe which also had a cellar for live music. The breakfast was excellent and so was the friendly service, and I told them so.
On leaving we went to the library to try and book Newport Yha. I sent J to get supplies while I did a bit of research. It was to no avail. Josh turned up and sat in reading comics showing no interest in my doings. I tried to copy a map to show folk on the blog where we were, but my efforts were in vain, so I photo copied one from a book. J came over and said he could of done it. I got annoyed saying if he had shown more interest in what I was doing he could of saved us time.
We walked on to the start of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and in majority sun almost killed ourselves getting yo Newport. The route with packs was hard with beautiful scenary but hard, intensive and rugged coastal terrain.
We eventually got to Newport to find the hostel had a group booking of geologists and had to walk on to a bunk barn. To top it J had only got the a cup a soup style pasta dish for dinner. WE went out to the pub but I refused to be ripped off by the prices for basic food, chips beans and egg £7.50. so we had the pasta dish and it was as good as it sounded.
The bunk barn was comfortable and we both had a warm double bed each.
