I awoke around 6 again and quitely got ready. I sat at a table and finished a blog and sorted my route. I was to cut directly north via the Carlton road, up over the moor to Guisborough.
At about 7 I hadan excellent yha breakfast, grapefruit,
cooked. And numerous coffees.I went back to the room and in doing so woke my room sharer. I got packed up and was out by 9.30 walking as intended north.
The initial. Six miles via Carlton on quiet contry lane with wild flower verges gave way to heather, ling and bell as farm field turned to moorland. It was bight again with a breeze on my back encouraging me along.
Although the pack appeared just as heavy the new boots felt great and i walked instead of hobbled the thicker sole proving great on stone track.
I left the road and over moorland track to eventually I I was on the route of the Cleveland Way but in reverse heading toward Kilburn.
I had a mad rush to get to the cafe there so I could have a well earned cold pint. I got there at 4.55pm thinking that 5 would be closing time but it was 4.30.. I knocked but no answer so as I had no water I took the water meant for the dogs on hot days.it looked clean and the container looked clean and it tasted of nectar. Again I left the Cleveland way opting. For an unrestrictex direct north route and after a brief heather stumble on at around 7 I asked for a pitch at High Cliffe Farm and the settled in for the evening.
I used surgical spirit which stung like hell on my feet and burned just as well instead of meths on the stove, Monique had co fused the two bottles when re supplying me. I Was able to have my spicy noodles and a coffee. I had enough spring water from the farm to do for the breaky.
The sole of my right of foot, blisters from earlier, are now giving jip. Will see how I go tomorrow with Middlesborough. 22 MILES WALKED TODAY. 212 MILES TOTAL.
4400 mile backpack of the Great British National Trails in one continuous walk .This includes Section One- 3700 miles of the National Trails of England and Wales , all 15 trails , Section 2- a 700 miles of the 4 Scottish Long Distant Paths. This is one walk , completed by linking trails by walking inbetween using lesser trails, lanes , etc.
