THANK YOU VIEWRANGER
I think it is harder to get sponsorship than it was 20 years ago , but then again these folk do not know me from Adam , they do not know my determination, strength and stamina or my dogged nature to get things done . Luckily some companies are willing to trust that determination and give to make the venture work.
I must mention VIEWRANGER that have supplied the mobile phone DEFY + with the OS mapping for GPS and a considerable discount. Thanks to them.

Testing Gear
I find it quite hard using my phone keyboard for typing. So at the end of the day I know it will be even harder to get it right. So have a small keyboard which connects to the mobile to make
doing this blog even easier. Thats
what I am typing this on. It is not bad. But like all these gadgets I need to charge it upi hence another gadget is needed in the form of a solar panel charger that goes on the back of my pack.
I have also bought a few guide books- The Cleveland Way and Yorkshire Wolds by Paddy Dillon , and The Hadrian Wall Way b
y Trailblazer. I will let you know what I think. Other guides will be posted on to me.
If anyone as any ideas on to any guide route tips then let me know via Twitter or Facebook.

I have been going over my route and am in the middle of changing it. It is mainly because I do not want to be on the west of the country -Wales and Pennine Way in winter. I am sure all would understand. At present I hope to get the route finalised by the end of the week.
I am unsure whether I should go for sponsors. I have all my own gear , however some is alittle worn. I have had assistance from Viewranger , a gps ordnance survey app for my phone covering the whole of the uk , which they also supplied-Motorola Defy + smart phone. Great piece of kit and I thank them .
I am giving up my job, van and flat to do this venture and at present will not have alot to come back to , but hey should be interesting. Looks like if Jay comes with me the start of the walk will be 15th August. If he is going up to his mothers , then I will start early August. I have the flat to decorate, car boot sale to do and find storage for my computer, books and other me things . Things are really coming together and am enjoying the project.
